2018 Charity Award - the vote is open!

Posted on May 2, 2018

Have your say on which charity wins an award of up to £5,000…

We’ve been looking after our members for over 125 years. Being a mutual, supporting charities and the local community is part of our heritage and the Society has donated thousands of pounds to local charities and community groups through various schemes, such as our Community Fund and staff’s chosen charity.

Last year we introduced a Charity Award concept, where we asked our members and the general public to nominate their favourite charities to win an award. After thousands of votes, Sheffield based charity Cavendish Cancer Care won by 300 votes, earning them a £5,000 donation from the scheme (find out more about the 2017 Charity Award here).

Vote Now!

The 2018 Charity Award will make donations to the top 3 charities as voted for by you. This year’s nominations have now been shortlisted by staff and Committee members and the final 10 are as follows: Candlelighters, Cathedral Archer Project, DSWESTPENNINE, Epilepsy Action, Headway Sheffield, Leukaemia Care Sheffield, Rotherham Federation of Communities, Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC), Second Thoughts and Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind. You can find out further information about each of these charities before you submit your vote by clicking here or on the big red button.

Voting will cease on 31st July 2018 and the winners of the Charity Award will be announced in August 2018.
