We spent a lovely day at the Penistone Show

The Penistone Agricultural Show is an annual, local event which celebrates farming, food and agriculture which we have attended a handful of times over the past number of years. This year was their 150th anniversary and we certainly got lucky with the weather as the sun was beating down on us all day!

Throughout the day we ran a variety of activities for everyone, gave out lots of information about Sheffield Mutual and had some great chats with attendees.

Name the Bear Competition: and the winner is... Our main competition of the day was the "Name the Bear" competition. The lucky winner, Natasha, walked away with a fantastic £100 Meadowhall gift card. She christened the bear 'Bubbles,' a name that perfectly captures the spirit of the day - full of joy.

Spin the Wheel: a crowd-pleasing success Our "Spin the Wheel" game was an instant hit at the show. Prizes including squishy stress pigs to money banks, goody bags, £10 gift cards, pens, lollipops, and notebooks kept the attendees entertained throughout the day. Laughter and excitement filled the air as lucky spinners walked away with their prizes.

Creative fun for little ones We also offered colouring for the kids in the shade which provided the perfect opportunity for the parents / carers to have a sit down and a cool off in our gazebo. We saw some creative designs and put them up on display for all to see.

The Penistone Show was not just about games and prizes, it was an opportunity to connect with both familiar faces and newcomers. We were delighted to engage in conversations with numerous attendees, some of whom were long-standing members of the Society and others who recognised us from previous years. We hope to be able to attend in the years to come so watch out for us in the future!
