Sheffield Mutual announced as new title sponsor of the Run For All Sheffield Half Marathon and 10K

The UK’s largest not-for-profit events company, Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, have today announced that Sheffield Mutual will become the new title sponsor of the Sheffield Half Marathon and Sheffield 10K. The partnership will see us support South Yorkshire’s leading running events for at least the next two years.

The partnership will kick off with the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 7th April, followed by the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K on Sunday 29th September. Both events are expected to generate a huge boost for a number of local and national charities.

Famous for its mile-long climb up Ringinglow Road along with stunning views across the Peak District, the Sheffield Half Marathon will be returning to its much-loved city centre start and finish on Arundel Gate.

Also set in the heart of South Yorkshire’s famous Steel City, the Sheffield 10K will likewise start and finish on Arundel Gate. The 10K route will take participants along Ecclesall Road, Rustlings Road, Graham Road, Riverdale Road, Endcliffe Vale Road and Brocco Bank, before returning along Ecclesall Road for the electric city centre finish line.

Building on its previous organisation of the event, Run For All alongside Sheffield Mutual will continue working on increasing community and charity engagement, while also working to remove barriers to participation for the event, so that more people in the region can enjoy the benefits of getting active.

Providing fundraising opportunities for charities is the primary objective of every Run For All event, ensuring that the money being raised supports the causes that need them most.
Runners are encouraged to fundraise for their own charity of choice or one of the event’s partner charities; Cavendish Cancer Care, Paces, Sheffield Futures, St Luke’s Sheffield Hospice, Snowdrop project, Roundabout, The Children’s Hospital Charity and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. Sheffield Mutual will be running for their 2024 employees’ chosen charity, Weston Park.

Chief Commercial Officer, Dawn Webb said, “We’re excited to be supporting events that will help thousands of different charities and good causes. Sheffield Mutual has strong values and works hard to give back to the community and its members through the course of our business, so we are delighted to be a part of something that inspires thousands of people to don their trainers and get out there to raise money for the charities closest to their hearts. It’s also fantastic for us to get involved in events in our local heartland. Sheffield Mutual seems to be Yorkshire’s best kept secret, so what better way of spreading the word than forming this special partnership. It’s a perfect fit for us and our values and we can’t wait to get involved.”

It is fantastic to have a Sheffield based company showing their support. With charity at its core for both events, the events are expected to raise thousands of pounds for countless local and national charities.

“We look forward to working with Sheffield Mutual over the next two years to inspire and motivate people to sign up regardless of their goal or reason for taking part.”

The Sheffield Half Marathon and 10K is supported by Sheffield City Council, Arla Protein, High 5, Up and Running, The Outdoor City, Erdinger, BBC Radio Sheffield, Coopah, Shokz, Gradwell and Marathon Photos Live.
