Could a charity you support benefit from a donation of up to £1000?
Nominate a charity that could benefit from a donation from our Community Fund.
Our Community Fund launched back in 2014 and since then has helped over 54 good causes and donated around £20,000.
The Community Fund takes requests from members and the general public for donations to local charities and community groups.
Throughout that time, we have helped a diverse range of local charities and community groups, including: Rotherham Sight and Sound, Barnsley Youth Choir and Gateway Church Shoestrings Project.
You can find out more about these donations by clicking on ‘Community Fund’.
Chief Executive, Jamie Bellamy is keen to keep the momentum going and continue with Sheffield Mutual’s commitment to helping good causes. He said:
“Our Community Fund is now in its fifth year. It’s great that we can help smaller, local charities and see first-hand the benefit our funding makes.”
Donations are available for amounts of up to £1,000, in line with the following criteria:
- The donation should benefit a South Yorkshire community or elsewhere if nominated by an existing member
- Donations will not be made to individuals, companies, political parties or religious groups (unless the project will benefit the wider community)
- Donations are not normally available to cover the general running costs, but must be specific projects, initiatives, services, facilities or equipment
- Donations are not available for statuary services, such as libraries and hospitals
Interested local charities and community groups can apply for a Community Fund donation on Charity and sponsorship page.
