Celebrating the Sheffield Mutual Charity Award 2025
We’re delighted to announce the winners of the 2025 Charity Award at Sheffield Mutual, and what an inspiring trio they are. A huge thank you to everyone who took part: members and the wider public cast over 1500 votes, showing just how much these causes resonate.
These awards began because we believe in the power of community, in everyday people making a difference, and in organisations that deliver real help and hope. At Sheffield Mutual, we pride ourselves on being personal, approachable and human-centred, working nationwide, yet with the warmth and accessibility of a mutual you can always reach. Recognising charities whose values align with ours is a natural extension of that belief.
Footprints Conductive Education Centre
Based in Nottingham, Footprints Conductive Education Centre supports children living with mobility and communication difficulties and their families across the East Midlands. Using the principles of Conductive Education, their team of dedicated professionals help children learn essential life skills such as walking, talking and feeding themselves, abilities that many of us might take for granted.
But what makes Footprints so special is their commitment to supporting the whole family. Parents and carers receive guidance, practical advice and the reassurance that they are not alone on what can often be an isolating journey. The centre becomes a place of hope, positivity and shared achievement.

Luna’s Fund
Luna’s Fund provides emotional and practical support for parents following the loss of a baby and those experiencing pregnancy after loss. Founded by bereaved parents who wanted to help others facing the same unimaginable heartbreak, the charity has turned personal tragedy into a source of strength and healing for countless families.
Their support covers everything from funded counselling and wellbeing breaks to home makeovers, meal deliveries and pregnancy support. Every service is tailored to each family’s needs, recognising that grief, love and recovery look different for everyone.
After speaking with the team, we were truly moved by their compassion and courage. Luna’s Fund shines a light in life’s darkest moments, helping parents rebuild their confidence and sense of hope. Their work is a powerful reminder that care, when given with empathy, can change lives.

Beacon South Yorkshire
Beacon South Yorkshire offers vital support to unpaid carers – people who dedicate their time to caring for family members or friends living with disabilities, mental health challenges, dementia, substance misuse or age-related illnesses.
The charity provides emotional support, counselling, social activities and practical advice to help carers balance their responsibilities with their own wellbeing. For many, Beacon is not just a service, it’s a lifeline. It’s a place to feel heard, share experiences and find strength among others who understand.
Beacon’s work highlights the incredible resilience of carers and the importance of ensuring they too are cared for. Their commitment to kindness, empathy and community reflects what we at Sheffield Mutual strive to embody every day.

Why we run these Awards
At Sheffield Mutual, we’re not just about financial products, we’re about people, their lives and the communities they live in. The Charity Award gives our members, and the public, the chance to celebrate the organisations that truly make a difference.
By voting, you help decide where recognition is given – reinforcing the values we hold dear: being accessible, personal, and doing well by doing good. These Awards aren’t about trophies; they’re about shining a light on the day-to-day work that changes lives.
