Sallie's credentials

Job Title: Product Development & Training Specialist

What does your job role entail? I am responsible for improving and expanding our product range from conception through to launch and beyond, regularly checking that our products meet the needs of our members. I am also responsible for the training and continuous development of our team.

When did you start at Sheffield Mutual? February 2023

What previous experience do you have? In a past life, I worked over 20 years for a large electrical retailer, in various roles, including business analyst and training manager.

What are your favourite things about your job? The variety, no two days are the same, there are so many projects we are working on, all focusing on improving our members experiences. I really enjoyed my first AGM too, getting to meet and chat to our members, I am working on our Members' Forum, and I can’t wait to get our members' insights into what YOU want from your mutual.

What do you like doing when you aren’t working? Spending time with my partner and kids, as well as snuggling up with my fur babies…yes another cat lover.

What 3 things would you take to a desert island? My fur-babies, (not my kids, that would be cruel because I wouldn’t take their games consoles), my partner because he can make anything out of nothing and he’s not a bad cook, lastly, a boat to escape in when I’ve had enough.

What would be your last ever meal? Something with pasta plus loads of garlic and parmesan, followed by a Cornish cream tea (jam first!), washed down with rhubarb and ginger gin and lemonade.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be? Faith by George Michael (my absolute idol)

Where is your dream location to visit? My all-time favourite place is The Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall

What are your top 3 films of all time? From the moment my aunt and uncle took me to see The Empire Strikes Back as a kid, I have been hooked on Star Wars, the original three are still my ultimate favourites though.
