The Society

Sheffield Mutual Friendly Society has been helping its members to provide a more secure future for themselves and their families for 120 years. We may have been helping to look after our members' financial well being for a long time, but we also know the importance of moving with the times. That's why we've recently launched a new on-line quote facility, which enables you to obtain a personalised illustration for most of our products. Whilst we remain passionate about our heritage and mutual status, our products and services have been broadened to include a range of savings, investment and protection plans, with the aim of helping to provide today’s members with a comfortable and financially secure future.

Please browse our site and the products we have to offer – ranging from the Tax Exempt Savings Plan, which allow investments to mature tax free and are unique to friendly societies like ourselves, to our new tax-free Junior ISA, these products are all invested in our market leading with-profits fund, which has topped a Money Management magazine survey for the past six years (Source: Money Management With Profits Survey – November 2011). Of course past performance is not an indicator of future performance, but our prudent investment strategy and mutual status, which enables us to return most of our profits to members by way of bonuses, helps us to maintain attractive investment returns year-on-year.
