Dawn W's credentials
Job role: Chief Commercial Officer
What does your job entail? I am responsible for the training, development, and effectiveness of the growing Business Development Department. I sit on the Board of Directors and have ownership of the creation and implementation of the Society's sales & marketing strategy and have responsibility for the training and development of the wider team
When did you start at Sheffield Mutual? I started working at the Society back in 2008, over the last 14 years the Society has supported my professional development in many ways and I am proud to work for an organisation that truly has its members' best interests at heart
What previous experience do you have? I have over 25 years' experience in retail and financial services. Before my time here I was an office manager for Harley-Davidson and a counter manager at a leading UK bank
What are your favourite things about your job? Working with others to ensure the Society's success and sharing that success with our members, whilst also ensuring our people provide the most exceptional service to our members and supporting intermediaries
What do you like doing when you aren't working? I love my family and dogs and if i'm not snuggled up with them on the settee watching a good film or box-set, then I am usually out birdwatching
What three things would you take to a desert island? iPhone, solar panel charger and my binoculars
What would your last ever meal be? Ohhh this is a tricky one!
Starter: There is a really nice fresh salmon starter from Rick Steins in Padstow.
Main: Hot stone steak
Pudding: Warm chocolate fudge cake and cream
Drink: Monkey La La (if you don't know what this is, you've never lived)
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be? Songs about Jane by Maroon 5 or the mix-tape that my Mum had when I was younger - lots of 60's and 70's music on there
Where is your dream location to visit? I do love going to Spain, but I would love to stay at a beach hut on the water somewhere like Mauritius. Scotland has to be the number one for a birdwatching location though!
What are your top three films of all time? Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Avatar (If Friends or the Mandalorian were films, I'd be putting those down too!)
